Your Event on a Private Brahmaputra Island

Guests cruise out at golden hour and step onto a lit island in the middle of the river. There is nothing else like it in the Northeast.

The venue

A venue the river builds once a year

Every winter the Brahmaputra drops, and a private sandbar rises mid-river — clean sand, open sky, the city glowing on the far bank. For four months it's ours, and for one night of those four months it can be entirely yours: a wedding, a corporate evening, a celebration on an island that didn't exist in June and won't exist next June.

Reached only by our own vessels, it's a venue with a built-in grand entrance — and a guest list that talks about the venue as much as the party.

The season

The island rises from the river each winter — November to March. Enquire for the current season's dates.

What we build there

A full venue, raised on the sand

Everything your event needs is built on the island and brought by boat: marquee dining halls and stilt pavilions, live food stalls and a full bar, lounge cabanas around bonfires, staging, sound and lighting, power and washrooms — catering, decor and service all by Alfresco. You bring the occasion; the island arrives dressed for it.

The signature move

The vessel and the island, together

This is the moment guests never forget. They board in the city as the light turns gold, cruise the wide river with a drink in hand — and then the island appears, strung with light, music drifting across the water. The boat noses onto the sand and the evening begins.

No convoy of cars, no hotel driveway. An arrival by water, a celebration on an island, and the lit vessel waiting as the backdrop to it all.

Occasions

Built for your night

Weddings

A destination wedding without leaving Guwahati — mandap on the sand, dinner in the marquee halls, the river holding the whole night. Up to 350 guests, everything provided.

Corporate

Offsites and annual nights that people actually remember — arrival by cruise, bonfires and cabanas, staging and sound for awards or entertainment. Daytime island offsites work beautifully too.

Celebrations

Milestone birthdays, anniversaries, reunions — any night that deserves its own island. Music until 10, dinner until 10:30, everyone back ashore by 11.

Good to know

Planning an island event

When is the island available?

November to March — the winter months when the Brahmaputra drops and the sandbar rises from the river. That window is the whole point: the venue exists for one season and is taken back by the water every summer. Dates go quickly; enquiries a few weeks to a month ahead are ideal.

How do guests get there?

By our own vessels — that's the signature of the whole experience. Your guests board in the city, cruise out at golden hour, and step onto a lit island in the middle of the river. Arrival is part of the event, and getting everyone home is ours to manage: boats shuttle back through the evening, with everyone ashore by 11 PM.

What if it rains?

Winter is Guwahati's dry season — which is why the island season is when it is. Covered marquees and dining halls stand ready regardless, so a passing shower moves the party under canvas, not off the island. We plan every event with a weather contingency and we'll talk you through it honestly.

Can we combine the island with a cruise?

That combination is the event: guests cruise out aboard our vessels and the island takes over from there. Many hosts extend it — cocktails on deck mid-river before landing, or a final sail past the city lights after dinner. Tell us the evening you have in mind and we'll build the itinerary around it.

How many guests can the island host?

Up to 350 — full wedding scale. The venue is built to your size each time: marquee dining halls, stilt pavilions, lounge cabanas, live food stalls, staging, sound and power, all set on the sand for your night.

What does an island event cost?

Island events start from around ₹6 lakh, and the final figure follows your guest count and requirements — every build is custom. We provide everything: transport by boat, catering, decor, sound, power, washrooms, seating, bar, stage and the venue itself. Call us or WhatsApp and we'll scope it together; site visits can be arranged in season.

The fleet behind the venue. Three vessels carry your guests — charter them for onboard parties of 20 to 150, island optional.

The two-person version of this magic. A private candlelight dinner — one tent, one table, one lantern-lit island evening.
